How a treatment plan takes shape
Work starts with reading your records: the pathology report, scans, the surgical report and earlier treatment. These are read together with an examination and your general health.
Then the aim of treatment becomes clear. Sometimes it is to remove the disease or stop it coming back, and sometimes to ease pain and symptoms. The methods and their order follow from that: radiotherapy alone, or with surgery and medicines.
Side effects are checked during treatment, and a follow-up plan continues after it ends.
